Creek Clean-Ups
Held twice a year, volunteers come together to help clean the creek and keep the Ecosystem healthy.

Over 100 people came to keep the creek clean! |
On Saturday, September 20, 2003, over 100 people from Castro Valley, San Leandro and other surrounding areas joined forces to help clean up the San Leandro Creek at Root Park.
Our thanks and gratitude goes out to everyone that took time out of their day to make this event a huge success!

State of the Creek address |
Before everyone is released, FSLC President, Rick Richards goes over a few guidelines.

Our wonderful volunteers |
A handful of volunteers went back to where we had planted trees 2 years ago to clean the brush around them.

The Crew |
No piece of brush was immune from being trimmed. Here we see "The Crew" taking pride in a tree that was planted two years ago. Thanks guys!!!!

Thanks, William |
Every little piece helps. Here, 5th grader William Koumrian pushes a tire up to the dumpster.

Tires |
Surveying all the tires that have been carelessly discarded into the creek!

What a load |
These guys really hauled a lot of garbage! Great work you two!!!

Toy gator |
Crikey, what a ripper! This toy gator was one of the most unusual finds of the day!
