Creek Clean-Ups
Held twice a year, volunteers come together to help clean the creek and keep the Ecosystem healthy.

Over 200 people came to help make a difference! |
On Saturday, September 15, 2001, citizens from San Leandro, Castro Valley, Alameda, and other surrounding communities came together to help clean our creek. At 9:00am, when the event started, the head count stood at approximately 150 people. Shortly thereafter, another group of 60+ people came in to lend a hand.
Our thanks goes out to all that attended and helped make this day a huge success!

To our volunteers, no part of the creek was off-limits!

FSLC Vice-President, Dave Owen |
Aside from cleaning the trash in the creek, we also planted 17 native tree species in the creek. Here, we see FSLC Vice-President, Dave Owen making sure this tree will integrate well in it's new home. Thanks Dave!

Paying Tribute! |
Just a scant four days after the events of September 11, 2001, people from all over the Bay Area came together. Not only to keep the creek clean, but to show their pride to be "American".
